Lawrence Lights is made possible by hundreds of volunteers who give their time to build displays, run the event, and welcome guests. No experience necessary, just a willingness to be part of something special.
Set-Up Crew
Assemble displays, untangle lights, wrap trees, secure decorations, and prepare the park for opening night.
Aug - Nov
Event Night Crew
Welcome guests, assist at the entrance, help keep traffic moving, and make sure each night runs smoothly.
Nov - Dec
Tear-Down Crew
Take down displays, remove lights and decorations, and organize everything for storage until next year.

The Lawrence Sertoma Club has served the Lawrence community for generations. Lawrence Lights is their flagship fundraiser; a percentage of every dollar raised goes directly to Douglas County nonprofits.

Do I need any skills or experience?
Nope! We’ll provide instructions when you arrive. Just bring a positive attitude and a willingness to help.
What should I wear?
Dress for the weather, choose clothes that can handle a little hands-on work, and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
Can my organization schedule a volunteer day?
Absolutely! Contact us in advance, and we’ll help coordinate a volunteer day for your group.
Are there age requirements for volunteers?
No, but younger volunteers should plan to participate with a supervising adult.
How long is a typical volunteer shift?
It depends. Available dates, times, and shift details will be listed when you sign up.
